The M.V. Baltic Trader makes her first commercial voyage for Regis Shipping »

Following full refurbishment at Durban, South Africa, the M.V. Baltic Trader is now underway to Dar Es Salaam.

This versatile vessel is capable of carrying shipping containers as well as reefer containers and is equipped a side ramp and a 30-ton crane; she is also able to get into low-draft ports as well as operate at anchorages with barging facilities. This will be of great benefit to companies needing a regular shipping service into the northern ports of Mozambique, particularly Palma and Mocímboa da Praia, as well as calling at other ports when required. This new shipping service is a viable alternative to road transport and of particular advantage to companies operating in and around the recently discovered gas and oil fields of northern Mozambique.

The M.V. Baltic Trader is a multipurpose general cargo vessel with a capacity of either 1,500 tons of breakbulk cargo or 3,500 cubic metres or 46 x 20’ containers at maximum load of 15 tons each.
